Towns of the Winelands

The book focuses on the story of towns of the Winelands to keep knowledge of the past alive that can so easily be forgotten as rapid urbanization encroaches. Man over time has left indelible marks upon the land; he brought his saw, mortar, and bricks – yet also his energy, love and creativity to the land that has sustained him for centuries.

To whet the reader’s interest in bacchanalian delights, some wine farms are included in this story, but to record them all would go beyond the scope of this book. The reader travels with the men and women who long ago, ventured out to tame this land where today natural splendour, quaint thatched-roofed homes, pleasing residences and magnificent estates stand side by side with drab buildings or impoverished communities.
